Beloved Luke

Beloved Luke

The Writer & his Gospel

led by Dom Brendan Thomas

Online Tuesday 15th February
In-Person Tuesday 1st March

Raymond Brown wrote that ‘more than any other evangelist, Luke has given the world a Jesus to love.’ Maybe that is because Jesus in his Gospel shows us a world and its people worthy of love.

St Luke seems to understand what human beings are like - sometimes a bit complicated, often tricky. But Jesus shows them the wideness of God's mercy, a universal love.

In our Sunday liturgy this year we follow his Gospel. So join me for an overview. Who was Luke? What did he most care about? What is distinctive about his Gospel? And how are we to respond to the challenges that Jesus lays down?
